COLLECTING PAYMENTS THROUGH THE POWER OF MECHANIC'S LIENS Mechanic's liens are often a very effective tool in collecting payment for labor, material, equipment and supplies used on construction projects. In many cases, they can generate payment at relatively little expense to the client. Mr. Nolan is very experienced in filing and enforcing mechanic's liens, as well as attacking a particular lien's legitimacy or compliance with strict statutory requirements. He has presented seminars on the lien statute to trade associations of architects and equipment suppliers. He is also experienced in enforcing similar claims involving public works projects, which require different procedures under the federal government's "Miller Act" or the Colorado Public Works Act.
